PraXtice is Methodology as a Service (MaaS). Just like SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. PraXtice lets you get on with what is important by leaving the methodology development to us.
PraXtice has all the advantages you'd expect from a service. It allows you to concentrate on doing architecture rather than talking about doing architecture.
Arcane architecture discussions may be interesting to architects. But they consume immense amounts of time usually without tangible results. This is harmful to the Architect's reputations and leads to questions about value.
PraXtice avoids all that. It starts with simple to follow instructions and evolves with your Architects so, there's no training necessary.
What PraXtice gives you is an SDLC agnostic methodology that brings transparency to the architectural process:
You can get started for as little as $365 a year; a dollar a day. If you're still not sure why not start with FreePraXtice which is free! Once you've seen how PraXtice improves your architecture you can get preview access to ProfessionalPraXtice for sixty days for $24.
PraXtice has three basic components:
ArchiMate is owned by the Open Group and supported by Bizzdesign's, Architect, BOC's Architect, IBM's Enterprise Architect, SparX Enterprise Architect and an increasing number of other tools. PraXtice has no preference and makes no recommendations on the choice of tool.
One of the side effects of architecture's lack of legitimacy is that companies are often quite rightly reluctant to invest in architecture software; some of it is prohibitively expensive. But unfortunately you are going to need a REAL tool in order to establish the legitimacy to get the budget.
If you are in a “chicken and egg” situation where you need to prove a tool's value before you can get the budget to acquire a tool then we suggest trying Archi it's free; although we strongly encourage you to donate even if only personally. With free software the ROI is infinite!
